Instructions to the Applicant

The information you provide in this Application will be used in the background investigation to assist in determining your suitability for the position of San Andreas Peace Officer, in accordance with POST.
  • It is your responsibility to complete this form and provide all required information.
  • This document must be filled out electronically and printed.
  • You must respond to all items and questions. Check applicable boxes with an "X". If a question does not apply to you, write “D.N.A” (does not apply) in the space provided for your response.
  • By submitting this form, you affirm that you have read and understood the Essential Job Functions and Selection Requirements of the position applied for.
  • (( Preview your application before submitting it to make sure that all the BBCode works properly. If it does not, use the blank application format as a guidance tool to fix it. Try to avoid touching the BBCode and only fill out text answers, and that way it will not break. ))
Disqualification

There are very few automatic bases for rejection. Even issues of prior misconduct, such as prior illegal drug use, driving under the influence, theft, or even arrest or conviction are usually not, in and of themselves, automatically disqualifying. However, deliberate misstatements or omissions can and often will result in your application being rejected, regardless of the nature or reason for the misstatements/omissions. In fact, the number one reason individuals “fail” background investigations is because they deliberately withhold or misrepresent job-relevant information from their prospective employer.

BOTTOM LINE: You are responsible for providing complete, accurate, and truthful responses.

Spoiler: show
Timothy Burroughs was born on June 15, 1990, in the vibrant city of Los Santos, a place where the sun sets behind towering palm trees, and the city buzzes with life from dawn to dusk. Growing up in the heart of the city, Timothy had a childhood that was a blend of the fast-paced urban lifestyle and moments of calm found in the tight-knit community around him. His family lived in a modest home in one of the city’s diverse neighborhoods, where people from all walks of life coexisted, sharing the same streets, markets, and schools. His parents, both hardworking and deeply rooted in their values, instilled in Timothy a strong sense of discipline and responsibility.
As a young boy, Timothy was known for his curiosity and his fascination with large vehicles, especially trucks. He would often spend hours in his room with toy trucks, imagining himself driving down the wide highways that stretched beyond the city limits. His parents nurtured this interest, often taking him on weekend trips out of town to see the sprawling countryside and the busy life of truckers along the way.
When it was time for him to attend school, Timothy enrolled at Crenshaw High School, a place that would play a pivotal role in shaping the man he would become. Crenshaw was more than just a school for Timothy; it was a second home. The teachers, the friendships, and the lessons he learned there, both inside and outside the classroom, had a lasting impact on him. He wasn’t the kind of student who excelled in academics alone; he was also known for his strong work ethic and perseverance. Whether it was on the basketball court, where he played as a forward on the school's team, or during school events, where he often volunteered to help organize, Timothy made a name for himself as someone who could be relied upon.
At the end of his school years, in 2008, Timothy was awarded his High School Diploma, an achievement that filled both him and his family with pride. The moment he walked across that stage, diploma in hand, he knew that life was about to change. He had dreams, big ones, but he also understood the value of hard work and patience. The diploma symbolized the beginning of his journey into adulthood.
After graduating, Timothy found himself at a crossroads. While some of his friends went off to college, Timothy’s heart pulled him in a different direction. His fascination with trucks, which had started in childhood, hadn’t faded. In fact, it had only grown stronger. He wanted to experience the open road, to see the country, and to be a part of something larger than himself. In 2011, he secured a job with Los Santos Transport, a well-known company in the city. The job offered him the chance to work with trucks, transporting goods across the state and beyond. It was everything Timothy had hoped for—long drives, a sense of freedom, and the responsibility of handling large machinery.
For six years, Timothy thrived in the trucking industry. He became a well-respected member of the Los Santos Transport team, known for his reliability and his ability to handle difficult routes with ease. But life on the road wasn’t without its challenges. The hours were long, the roads could be treacherous, and the physical demands of the job began to take a toll on his body. In 2017, after suffering a significant injury during one of his hauls, Timothy made the difficult decision to leave the job he had grown to love.
Leaving the trucking world was a tough transition for Timothy. He had built his identity around the job, and now, with an injury that limited his physical capabilities, he found himself uncertain of what to do next. But Timothy wasn’t one to stay down for long. During his time off the road, he had begun to reflect on his life and what he wanted out of it. One dream that had always lingered in the back of his mind was the idea of serving his community in a meaningful way.
Growing up in Los Santos, Timothy had always admired the work of the local law enforcement, particularly the Los Santos Sheriff’s Department. He remembered seeing deputies patrolling the neighborhoods, not just as enforcers of the law, but as pillars of the community. They were the ones who maintained order, who people turned to in times of trouble, and who ensured that the streets remained safe. Timothy had always respected their role, and as he moved through life, he realized that becoming a part of that brotherhood was something he deeply desired.
In the years following his departure from the trucking industry, Timothy began working on making his dream a reality. He dedicated himself to physical therapy, working hard to overcome the limitations of his injury. He also took the time to educate himself on the requirements needed to apply for the Los Santos Sheriff’s Department. Timothy knew that the road ahead wouldn’t be easy, but he was no stranger to hard work. His experience as a trucker had taught him patience, perseverance, and the importance of following through on commitments—traits he knew would serve him well as a law enforcement officer.
By 2024, Timothy was fully committed to pursuing his dream. He spent hours preparing for the Sheriff's Department entrance exams, honing his physical fitness, and studying the material he would need to know. His passion for serving his community, coupled with his years of experience on the road, gave him a unique perspective. He understood people, having met so many during his trucking days, and he knew how to navigate difficult situations with calm and focus. These skills, along with his deep-rooted love for Los Santos, fueled his determination.
Now, as Timothy stands on the brink of a new chapter in his life, he reflects on the journey that brought him here—from a curious boy with toy trucks to a seasoned professional ready to serve and protect his community. For Timothy Burroughs, the road may have been long and winding, but every mile was worth it.
