Instructions to the Applicant

The information you provide in this Application will be used in the background investigation to assist in determining your suitability for the position of San Andreas Peace Officer, in accordance with POST.
  • It is your responsibility to complete this form and provide all required information.
  • This document must be filled out electronically and printed.
  • You must respond to all items and questions. Check applicable boxes with an "X". If a question does not apply to you, write “D.N.A” (does not apply) in the space provided for your response.
  • By submitting this form, you affirm that you have read and understood the Essential Job Functions and Selection Requirements of the position applied for.
  • (( Preview your application before submitting it to make sure that all the BBCode works properly. If it does not, use the blank application format as a guidance tool to fix it. Try to avoid touching the BBCode and only fill out text answers, and that way it will not break. ))
Disqualification

There are very few automatic bases for rejection. Even issues of prior misconduct, such as prior illegal drug use, driving under the influence, theft, or even arrest or conviction are usually not, in and of themselves, automatically disqualifying. However, deliberate misstatements or omissions can and often will result in your application being rejected, regardless of the nature or reason for the misstatements/omissions. In fact, the number one reason individuals “fail” background investigations is because they deliberately withhold or misrepresent job-relevant information from their prospective employer.

BOTTOM LINE: You are responsible for providing complete, accurate, and truthful responses.

Spoiler: show
When I stepped off the plane at LSX, I told myself one thing: I'm not gonna be what they figured I'd end up being. Back in Italy, in this little town outside of Naples, there were only two paths—get in line, or get eliminated. I'd seen what had become of my older brother Marco when he tried to stay outside of it. A stray bullet in a firefight between gangs ended his life. He was just in the wrong place, wrong time. That loss broke something in me, but it fueled a purpose. I did not seek revenge—I wanted change.

Since settling in Idlewood, I’ve kept my head down, worked as a mechanic, and tried to stay out of trouble. But over the years, I’ve seen too many good people get swallowed by the same kind of darkness that consumed my hometown. Families living in fear, kids idolizing the wrong people, crime being the loudest voice in the room. I’ve learned that keeping your head down only works until someone lifts it for you.

That's the reason I'm applying for the Los Santos County Sheriff's Department. Not due to the fact that I'm perfect, but because I understand. I've lived on the outskirts of crime—not as a criminal, but as one who has lost family members to it. I understand what it's like to walk that fine line between staying clean and getting pulled in. I can bring more than discipline or work ethic to the job—I can bring understanding. I can see what other people can't. I can read the signs, the tension in a neighborhood, how fear sneaks in quietly.

I'm also not new to hard work. My father taught me that it takes time, patience, and the willingness to get your hands dirty to repair something that's broken. I'm doing the same thing now. I want to serve not just to enforce the law, but to be a face that is trusted—especially in communities that have forgotten a long time ago what it means to trust. My life as a mechanic has taught me precision, responsibility, and dealing with people from every walk of life. But more than that, my past has given me empathy. I don't see criminals—I see stories. Tragic sometimes, desperate sometimes. And although I do believe in justice, I also believe in second chances—because I'm living proof that people can change their ways.

Joining the LSCSD is a dream come true for me—it is a way to finally strike back at what destroyed my family. It is a chance to rescue people before they become statistics. I would like to be there when someone is teetering, to help pull them back. Not everyone gets given that chance. I did. And now I want to use it to give others the same.
