by Abraham Mayfield

Instructions to the Applicant

The information you provide in this Application will be used in the background investigation to assist in determining your suitability for the position of San Andreas Peace Officer, in accordance with POST.
  • It is your responsibility to complete this form and provide all required information.
  • This document must be filled out electronically and printed.
  • You must respond to all items and questions. Check applicable boxes with an "X". If a question does not apply to you, write “D.N.A” (does not apply) in the space provided for your response.
  • By submitting this form, you affirm that you have read and understood the Essential Job Functions and Selection Requirements of the position applied for.
  • (( Preview your application before submitting it to make sure that all the BBCode works properly. If it does not, use the blank application format as a guidance tool to fix it. Try to avoid touching the BBCode and only fill out text answers, and that way it will not break. ))
Disqualification

There are very few automatic bases for rejection. Even issues of prior misconduct, such as prior illegal drug use, driving under the influence, theft, or even arrest or conviction are usually not, in and of themselves, automatically disqualifying. However, deliberate misstatements or omissions can and often will result in your application being rejected, regardless of the nature or reason for the misstatements/omissions. In fact, the number one reason individuals “fail” background investigations is because they deliberately withhold or misrepresent job-relevant information from their prospective employer.

BOTTOM LINE: You are responsible for providing complete, accurate, and truthful responses.

Abraham Mayfield was born on August 23, 1992, in Los Santos, San Andreas. Raised in the heart of the city, Abraham grew up in a modest household on the east side of Los Santos. His parents worked hard to make ends meet—his mother was a nurse at Central Los Santos Medical Center, and his father worked as a mechanic. From an early age, Abraham was instilled with the values of hard work, respect, and responsibility. Life in the city was never easy, but it taught him resilience, patience, and the importance of staying grounded no matter the circumstances.

As a child, Abraham was naturally observant and drawn to structure. He was fascinated by the order and discipline displayed by first responders in the neighborhood, particularly the officers of the Los Santos Sheriff’s Department. He would often watch patrol cars drive by and wonder what it would be like to wear the badge and serve his community. That curiosity turned into a deep-seated ambition as he got older.

Abraham attended Los Santos High School, where he maintained solid academic performance while balancing part-time jobs to help support his family. His work ethic stood out among his peers, and he was often seen as a dependable and level-headed student. He played on the varsity football team for two years, not because he dreamed of a sports career, but because he believed in teamwork and discipline. He also volunteered through a school program that supported community cleanups and youth mentorship, which further strengthened his desire to contribute to something greater than himself.

After graduating in 2010, Abraham didn't immediately pursue college. Instead, he took on various jobs around the city—from security detail at local events to warehouse logistics. While his friends were leaving Los Santos in search of college degrees or corporate careers, Abraham stayed behind to support his younger sister and aging grandparents. These years weren’t glamorous, but they were formative. They taught him the value of responsibility and showed him what it meant to put others before yourself.

In 2016, looking for a new opportunity and a change of pace, Abraham accepted a job offer in North Dakota at Duratok Winery, a growing operation known for its sustainable practices and strong community ties. What started as a logistics coordinator position turned into something much more. Over the next few years, Abraham’s leadership qualities became increasingly apparent. He was promoted to winery manager, overseeing day-to-day operations, supervising a diverse team, and ensuring that quality standards and safety protocols were always met.

Managing a winery might seem like a far cry from the bustling streets of Los Santos, but for Abraham, it was another lesson in accountability and leadership. The winery required attention to detail, patience under pressure, and the ability to work with people from all walks of life—skills that he knows will serve him well in his future goals. Abraham often says that working at Duratok taught him how to lead without commanding, to listen more than he speaks, and to act with fairness even when it’s difficult.

Still, despite the personal and professional growth he found in North Dakota, Abraham never let go of the dream he had since he was a teenager: to return to Los Santos and join the Sheriff’s Department. That goal has remained a constant for him, even during long days at the winery or cold winters in the Midwest. He has kept close ties with friends and mentors in Los Santos, staying informed about the challenges facing the city and the role law enforcement plays in creating safer, more connected communities.

What drives Abraham today is a sincere commitment to public service. He doesn’t see the badge as a symbol of power, but as a responsibility—to protect, to lead, and to serve with integrity. He understands that modern law enforcement is as much about communication and community trust as it is about enforcement and safety. His experiences—growing up in a working-class neighborhood, helping to raise his younger sister, managing a business in a completely different state—have all contributed to his understanding of people and the importance of being calm, fair, and professional in every interaction.

Abraham has spent the last few years preparing himself for this next step. He’s taken courses in criminal justice online, stayed physically active, and maintained a clean personal and professional record. He knows that becoming a deputy with the Los Santos Sheriff’s Department is not just a job—it’s a lifelong commitment to the city that raised him. He’s ready to take on that responsibility with humility, determination, and a deep respect for the community he hopes to serve.

In his spare time, Abraham enjoys hiking, reading nonfiction about leadership and criminal justice, and mentoring local teens through a virtual program he joined during the pandemic. He believes that real change happens when people show up for their communities, and he wants to be the kind of law enforcement officer who not only enforces the law but also uplifts and inspires those around him.

With a strong foundation of life experience, leadership, and a genuine desire to give back, Abraham Mayfield is now fully focused on pursuing his long-held dream of joining the Los Santos Sheriff’s Department and making a meaningful impact where it matters most.
