MESSAGE FROM THE SHERIFF

Image
It has been nearly three weeks since the server launched, and I must say that I am thoroughly impressed by the support and dedication shown by everyone involved in their roleplaying endeavors. During this time, we have received various suggestions, some of which are currently under discussion, while others have been escalated to the leadership team for further consideration, particularly those related to script changes. We will soon see the outcomes of these deliberations.

One significant concern that has been raised is the issue of custody time and the lack of in-game roleplay at the facility. We are actively brainstorming ways to improve activity in that area, and once we reach a conclusion, we will promptly inform the faction.

As expected, we have encountered some obstacles and issues in the opening weeks of the server, which we will address as time progresses. We have allowed individuals to acclimate to the server environment and channel their initial enthusiasm, ensuring we can move forward smoothly.

I would like to acknowledge the recent addition of Canyon Drummond to the executive team. This promotion is well-deserved, as Drummond has been tirelessly dedicated since assuming the role of commander over a year ago. I have high hopes that he will continue to grow in his position.

With the faction now running on a day-to-day basis, we can shift our focus towards the future. However, it is important to note that change won't happen overnight, as we remain committed to the diligent effort required for growth and expansion. Our first expansion initiative will be the ongoing recruitment drive, which will provide valuable insights into what changes need to be made for the future and how we can enhance our operations.

If you haven't already done so, I strongly encourage you to fill out the feedback survey we have been sharing on Discord. This will allow us to gain a comprehensive understanding of the majority's opinions and desires for improvement.

Additionally, we have resumed our monthly newsletter, collaborating with SIB to make it as informative as possible. If this interests you, please consider submitting a Letter of Intent (LOI) to SIB Command.

That's all I have for now. My private messages are always open for those who wish to reach out. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Regards,
Kenneth Larosa

Sheriff Kenneth Larosa

MEET THE TEAM

Image
DIVISION CHIEF CANYON DRUMMOND
CENTRAL PATROL DIVISION

Chief Drummond started his activity as a law enforcement officer at Men's Central Jail. After completing the Field Training Program, he was assigned to the East Los Santos Sheriff's Station. Six years later, he becomes a Field Training Officer. Two years later, he is getting re-assigned to the Special Enforcement Bureau where he spends the next years as a member of the Red Team.

In 1995 he decides to enroll in the Basic Sergeant Supervisory School which gives him the opportunity of becoming a Field Supervisor for his home station, East Los Santos Sheriff's Station. His Watch Commander promotion happens in 2001. 2003 brings Lt. Drummond a reassignment to the Davis Sheriff's Station as Operations Lieutenant. His leadership abilities and devotion to the Davis Sheriff's Station and its tradition enables him to become, in 2006, the Captain of the station.

For the next 8 years, Drummond is promoted to the rank of Commander of the Central Patrol Division, which allows him to oversee all Sheriff's Station. Over his time as Commander, he and his team managed to open the newest Sheriff's station of the Los Santos — West Vinewood Sheriff's Station.

Currently, he holds the title of Division Chief, being responsible of the Central Patrol Division.

(( FACTION UPDATES ))

WELCOME TO WEST VINEWOOD
A lot of people are super hyped about this, and we're happy that you guys are enjoying this. West Vinewood was something that we were planning on doing later on the road as a third station, however, the community development team stated they would be focusing mainly on the development within the city limits. With that being said, there was no point in having a Paleto Bay Sheriff's Station. Since then, we've gone through a lot of material and made the changes needed to rename Paleto to West Vinewood. We have introduced a small group of individuals and created our own mapping team. I would like to thank the group for their hard work in assisting with the West Vinewood Station (Jerome, Whiskey, PingThePlague, Fiendfyre, and PlayerX.). Without you guys, it would've taken a bit longer to map an entire station! Bare in mind we're still waiting on /door to be a thing.

ACTIVITY
As of today, we have concluded our first activity check throughout the entire faction. We have given plenty of time for individuals to show face and/or make absence reports. We will begin enforcing activity checks on a monthly bases. It should be noted that at this current time, we only ask the faction to hold a 1.0 which really is not much at all. It's important you make absence reports if you can't fill that. You can also message Executive Staff about becoming a reserved deputy. More information that can be found here.

FACTION FEEDBACK
We started a faction feedback form a few months ago. This was to address any issues we have had in the faction at the time. That feedback form was actually very positive. We decided to host another faction feedback survey shortly after the launch to receive your thoughts as a faction member. To give you guys total transparency with this, this feedback wasn't all that bad either. For the most part, it was very positive. Something that was brought to our attention is a lot of people are wanting mods, and we hear you. We will be working more toward faction mods. Something else that was brought up was a lot of people might feel 'lost' in the new environment (GTA:5), and that's okay. I believe a lot of us are still adapting to GTA:V, the street names, and getting back into being a patrol deputy.

To give you guys total transparency of the feedback form, these are the results.
  • Overall, the Command/Executive Staff is very approachable. We did receive one negative feedback which was the result of activity when it comes to reinstatements. For the month of June, Command has handled 23 amount of reinstatements with only 4 command members. Two which held absence reports. Over the past few days, we have inducted two additional command members. These individuals are previous command members who hold the experience, and will help the faction progression. It's possible more are to come.
  • Traffic, Special Enforcement Bureau, and Detectives have been given positive feedback. SEB has received one minor negative feedback, which was already addressed. Detective Division received one minor negative feedback as well, which is also being addressed.
  • Lack of Field Training Officers for Field Training Program. FTP Management has been making some changes to include more FTOs and MFTOs. As mentioned before, activity checks are full-go now.
CIVILIAN EMPLOYMENT
In the last month, the Internal Affairs Bureau came out with a suggestion. IAB wanted to give the opportunity of joining the Internal Affairs Bureau to community members who don't want to roleplay as a law enforcement officer, to have contact with the investigative world. Thus, the Civilian Investigator role was added to the list of civilian assignments. People interested in joining the Internal Affairs Bureau as a civilian should follow the indications presented here.

We also made preparations for the Public Response Dispatcher civilian role. The job bulletin and the recruitment-related forums are ready. All we need is a CFMB team to start working with. If people are interested in joining the CFMB or if they wish to contribute at developing it, please do let Luca know.

We will be looking at multiple other civilian employment position(s) that the faction can hold.

FACTION SUGGESTIONS
We are still actively reviewing suggestions that are posted. One of the main suggestions that was posted was in regards to the 'motivation' section for opportunity applications. After discussing this with all Acting command, Command, and Executive Staff members, we have decided that the motivation section for them applications are optional. You do not have to fill it out. Some people might like filling it out, some may not. Unit Commanders/Bureau Commanders will be seeking more of an ingame approach. We believe having players in-game is more important then them being on the forum.

We are still looking over other suggestions which were mentioned, such as jail hours. As soon as we figure out a more efficient way to handle the situation, we will inform you.

FIELD TRAINING PROGRAM
With our recent Coordinator of the Field Training Program resigning (Revy), we have temporarily placed Robert McNeal (Zeno) in his place. Zeno will be running both FTP and BSSS. We will be working with him to ensure that Field Training Program gets the attention it needs. If you're not a field training officer, we encourage you to apply for it. It helps the faction and it's progression, especially with the fresh batch of recruits we have coming in.
